
On Saturday, November 7, Davis Malm attorney Avi M. Lev conducted a well-received workshop on "Monetary Appraisals" at the New England Archivists Fall Meeting. Mr. Lev discussed when appraisals are necessary for tax purposes; specific tax regulations affecting appraisals; the requirements for substantiation of charitable donations; elements of qualified appraisals; what credentials qualify appraisers; and penalties imposed on appraisers for incorrect appraisals.
Mr. Lev is a Senior Tax Attorney at Davis Malm. He assists clients with tax planning and transactional analysis at the federal, state, and international levels, and represents taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Massachusetts Department of Revenue and other tax authorities.
