On May 1, Davis Malm shareholder Sam Mawn-Mahlau served as a moderator at the annual TiE StartupCon (previously known as TiECON East) Conference organized by TiE-Boston and sponsored by Davis Malm & D’Agostine, P.C. Sam chaired the panel titled “Founders Doing Good” which centered on how to create an organization that delivers compelling social impact. The panelists shared their experiences in building amazing organizations that tackle some of the toughest social challenges.

The panelists included Jared Chung, Founder of CareerVillage, a technology non-profit that uses online volunteering to crowdsource career advice for young people; Mickey Cockrell, Cofounder of Catie’s Closet, a non-profit that provides clothing to students living below the poverty line; Manas Satpathy, Executive Director of PRADAN, India’s foremost non-profit organization that promotes rural livelihoods; and Sridhar Tayur, Founder and CEO of OrganJet Corporation which provides information service, as well as options for timely and affordable air transport, for patients who are multi-listed or distant listed for organ transplants in the U.S.

PRADAN USA has recently been formed as an affiliate of PRADAN India, and Davis Malm has provided legal services for the formation on a pro bono basis. To learn more about PRADAN USA, visit its website.
